What I'm Loving | 10/1/2017
Right off the bat, I'm loving that it's October. I'm currently eating pumpkin spice Cheerios and looking up apple muffin recipes and I couldn't be happier. I know the "most wonderful time of the year" bit is a Christmas thing, but really I think it applies to October - December. Here are some other things I'm loving lately:
Books :: The Invention of Wings is one of the most gripping books I've read in awhile. Alternating between the perspective of a southern girl and the slave she receives at age 11, it grapples with a lot of human struggles. In the afterword the author delves into the story that it is based on and tells what is fact and what is embellished, so major historical fiction points for that. A good friend recommended The Art of Racing in the Rain a very long time ago and I finally remembered to order it. As someone who lost a dog a few years ago, I've already cried once and I'm 50 pages in. I'm going to persevere though!
Listening :: My project to save more music on Spotify has turned into me listening to Joanne by Lady Gaga on repeat. No complaints, I just feel like I've let you, the reader, down a bit by not having anything new to share.
Spare Time :: Big news: I got an Instant Pot! My crock pot was all but dead and I had to do something. I just got the 6 in 1 since I am completely sure I'll never make home made yogurt. I haven't actually used it yet, but I've spent a lot of spare time looking at recipes. Soon!
Style :: Athleisure. I don't have any specific pieces, just in general. Harley got some home work out equipment, and while it's an eye sore it is an excuse to wear more workout gear because I am in close proximity to workout equipment.
Happy October, everyone!
